What do you remember best about your time of service? The friendships? The people? The food? Now is your chance to experience it again, in one of two week-long service-learning tours.

In Arizona, you can participate in a Border Lands tour, learn about Peace Academic Center, and serve alongside current SOOP partners in Tucson, Phoenix and Kykotsmovi.

In Mississippi, , you can learn more about the civil rights movement in the state and serve alongside current Service Adventure and SOOP participants.

Susan Nisly, Service Adventure director for Mennonite Mission Network, said that it was encouraging to see how those who participated in last year’s tour to Mississippi embraced both service and learning. "They loved getting their hands dirty and doing the cleaning, painting, construction type things that we did," she said. "They also enjoyed learning about the civil rights movement and the realities of what life is like in these locations now." She encourages people to sign up for this year’s tours, stating that it’s important for Christians to keep learning and finding ways to engage. These service-learning tours allow people to do just that.

Only 12 spots are available for each tour. They are open on a first-come, first-served basis. The price per person is $750 for Mississippi, and $950 for Arizona. The price includes all expenses during the trip, but not travel to the site.

We encourage participants to come early or stay late so they can serve with the SOOP placements at either location.
